CTP Tour Company

The seed for CTP tours began many years ago when we met as much younger tour guides.  We felt that instant connection of friendship but also realized our common bond had to do with our passion for France.   With over 50 years of shared travel and touring experience in France, Europe and beyond, our vision is to provide active, authentic, and quality small group travel experience in our beloved France.   We look forward to travelling with you soon!  A bientôt!   Chris, Toni and Patrick

 Our Core Values
• CTP Tours travels close to the ground for true, authentic travel experiences. We do this by keeping our groups small (16 travelers maximum) to allow flexibility that is impossible with large tour groups.  We take our time exploring places with all our senses on hikes - it is much more pleasant than whizzing by in a big bus getting just a glimpse of the scenery.  We also avoid trumped-up, tourist traps - or if the site is worthy of a visit nevertheless, we plan our visit in order to get maximum pleasure from the experience.
• CTP Tours sources only from hotels, restaurants and people we have grown to trust over the years, with emphasis on quality and location.
• CTP Tours treats travel companions, suppliers, and each other, with the same high degree of respect, fairness, & honesty that we expect of others.

What are we up to for 2010?

The Pont du Gard – in search of the remains of the ancient aqueduct

Pont Du Gard

The theme of this tour is the Roman Aqueduct, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the famous Pont du Gard built around 50BC to carry water from Uzès to Nîmes.

The hiking we propose on this tour is a combination of  quiet country roads that allow you to appreciate the villages as well as parts of GR-trails (“Grande Randonnées”, being Long Distance Paths).   The daily walking distance varies between 4 and 11 miles, and the hiking is not difficult.  Level: Moderate, gentle to rolling terrain with occasional short gradients.  Although we don’t hike everyday, there will always be a reasonable amount of walking involved.  Travelling close to the ground allows you to appreciate the natural beauty of the South of France to the fullest!
